Hannes Pflügner, born in 1980, was born in Frankfurt and grew up in Mörfelden-Walldorf, in the “suburban belt” of Frankfurt. Even as a child and teenager, he was drawn to the Zeil and the city’s cinemas, and later to the clubs and pubs. Frankfurt has always been a big attraction for him.

After graduating from high school, Hannes began studying history, political science and sociology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, which he successfully completed in 2008. He studied history out of interest and without a specific career in mind. History has always been his hobbyhorse. Even at school, he was interested in the development of societies, in the past and its impact on our lives today.

He came to being a tour guide “like a virgin to a child”. To earn some money, he started working as a guide at the Rüsselsheim City and Industrial Museum straight after graduating. This is where he learned to tell stories in a technically competent, but also entertaining and amusing way. He knows how to show connections and report on spectacular episodes.

When he realized how much he enjoyed this kind of mediation, he started working as a tour guide in Frankfurt in 2010. Here he is living his dream job.

It has always been clear to him that he is talking to people who want to experience Frankfurt in their free time. Approaching people, meeting them where they are and always treating them kindly and with respect has become the credo of his work. His clear and distinct pronunciation always serves him well in this respect.

The historical significance of “Mainhattan” as well as its present are fascinating and multifaceted and never cease to surprise. This small and yet so large city offers countless exciting aspects, which Hannes likes to convey to his guests.
